1: Not having lecture notes printed means less concentration
During my time at SSE I have had different strategies of how to study and understand the subjects studied. I think that I have worked out a strategy that works well for me. I have discovered that I learn the most attending lectures and taking notes on the slides they provide. During exam periods this has come to be the main thing I use for my studies.
Most often, the lecture notes are handed out (printed) in the beginning of the lecture. But the two courses we are taking now are exceptions of that. Therefore, I have forgot to print them myself forcing me to take notes on a blank piece of paper. I have come to realize that I then have problems with knowing what is important and what to take notes of. I then end up writing down the information on the slides without paying any attention to what the professor says. Today I found myself doing everything but listening. And worst of all, my unfocused state made me chatter with people sitting next to me, disturbing them and all others who tried to listen.
Today’s conclusion: In order to stay focused on the lectures I need to have lecture notes printed!
